Right before Christmas a guy dropped this 5 string Peavey Grind bass and snapped the peghead off. I glued the 2 pieces back together, and then touched up the finish. Clear on the back and sides. Then I laminated a mahogany veneer on the peghead face to cover up the ugly, and finished it in amber. When complete, I lowered the action all the way (it's still a little high), but it's better than it was. Plays great, but still sounds like a Peavey. I can't fix THAT.

Thanks, Brian. I just posted some pix so folks would know I'm still working.

That's a nice repair Chris. Just finished level/crown/polish on two Peavey's, most uneven factory frets I've seen in a while.

If that were my bass I'd be very happy with that repair. Nice work sir.

There is a way to make those Peavey's sound good, it's a really old tool called a chainsaw.

Funny, I just finished doing setups on two older Peavey's and have to agree, they just don't sound that good. Beauty in the eye of the beholder I suppose.
